Privacy & cookies
We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics and only the cookies strictly needed to run the site and sign customers in. No advertising, no cross-site profiling, no selling data.
The short version. Our analytics set no cookies and build no personal profiles. The only cookies we use are essential ones — keeping you signed in, and remembering you closed our notice. That is why you will not see a consent pop-up asking permission: legally, none is required.
1. Who we are
Sniffer Studio makes moderation plugins for Minecraft servers. We operate as an independent studio based in the Czech Republic. For anything privacy-related, reach us on Discord or email [email protected].
2. Analytics, without cookies
We measure how our sites perform using Plausible Analytics, which we host ourselves. It:
- sets no cookies and creates no persistent identifier, so we cannot follow an individual across days or link a visit to a real person;
- collects only aggregated, non-identifying data: pages viewed, referrer, approximate location derived from your IP in memory (your IP is not stored), and device and browser type;
- never shares data with advertisers or ad networks.
Because no personal data and no device storage are involved, this relies on our legitimate interest in improving our sites and does not require consent.
3. Cookies we use
Strictly necessary cookies only.
| Cookie | Purpose | Scope | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
ss_customer | Keeps you signed in to your dashboard and product panel. | All .snifferstudio.net sites | Session |
ss_notice_ack | Remembers that you dismissed our privacy notice. | All .snifferstudio.net sites | One year |
4. Account and purchase data
- Sign-in. We use Discord to log you in, and receive your Discord username, user ID and the email tied to that account.
- Licences. Your licence keys, the servers they run on, and the basic technical data the plugin sends to validate them.
- Purchases. Sales run through BuiltByBit, who process payment details. We never see or store card numbers.
5. Product data in VoiceSniffer
What happens to voice audio depends on the mode the server owner chooses.
Self-hosted mode. Speech is analysed on the server owner's own machine. No audio and no transcript ever reaches us.
Cloud mode. Short clips of speech are sent to our servers over an encrypted connection so they can be transcribed and checked. That audio is held in memory only for as long as the check takes. It is never written to disk and never kept once the check finishes. What we do keep is the resulting moderation event, which includes the text of what was said, so that server staff can see why something was flagged and act on it.
Server owners are responsible for telling their players that voice chat on their server is moderated.
6. Server logs and security
Our servers and our network provider Cloudflare keep short-lived technical logs (IP address, timestamp, request) to keep the service secure and prevent abuse. These are retained briefly, then discarded.
7. Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the providers that make the service work: Discord for sign-in, BuiltByBit for sales, and Cloudflare for delivery and security.
8. How long we keep it
Analytics data is aggregated and never tied to you. Account and licence data is kept while you hold an active licence or account, plus whatever we are legally required to keep afterwards. Logs are kept only briefly.
9. Your rights under the GDPR
If you are in the EU or EEA you can ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or send it to you in a portable format. You may also complain to your data protection authority — in the Czech Republic, the Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů. Contact us on Discord or at [email protected]; we respond within 30 days.
10. Children
Our products are built for server owners and staff. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will remove it.
11. Changes
If we change how we handle data we update this page and the date above. Material changes affecting non-essential processing are announced before they take effect.
